For most teenagers, the college planning and application process requires never-before undertaken amounts of self-reflection, organization, planning, re-writing, risk-taking and general discomfort.
Anxiety? Yes, the college process and its unknowns provoke undue anxiety and stress. Solution: Information provides answers and removes anxiety. The Fidelity equation for success is found at the confluence of college knowledge, current year data of admission trends and institutional objectives, and a history of listening to and guiding students through successful matriculations at colleges of all levels of selectivity.
Is USA College Admission Selection Subjective? Yes!
Fact: Colleges shape their classes based on institutional objectives and year-to-year changes in the applicant pool.
Fact: The college admission selection process can be a “weeding out” process, and there are far more candidates than there are places in the incoming classes.
Fact: The overwhelming majority of candidates are admissible at even the most selective institutions. Schools like Brown and UPenn will state that 85 - 90% are admissible. Yet, they admit 5 - 7%.
